Saturday 24th May: DJ: Jerry Drew

A disciple of the House revolution that swept through the UK in 1988 Jerry spent 4 years frequenting some of the seminal nights in London from that period before settling on his vision of a night he wanted to put on.

In 1992 Jerry was a Co-Founder of the now Legendary Gass Club where his first real DJ residency commenced, the night blew up and played host to UK stalwarts Paul Oakenfold, Jeremy Healy, Farley & Heller, Judge Jules, and Fat Tony amongst others on a weekly basis.

In 1995 the night moved to the larger surroundings of London’s Raw Club where Jerry continued his residency alongside his promoting head honcho duties with the weekly party attracting 1000 dancers every Saturday night, the list of DJ’s is endless but if we mention Sasha, Robert Owens, Norman Jay, DJ Pierre and Timo Mass you get the picture.

In the late 90’s and beyond Jerry continued to Co-host and play at his own nights promoting a string of wildly successful one off parties at a range of venues including several film studios, the top floor of the Hyde Park Four seasons hotel and the basement of London’s Trocadero and it was during this period  with his DJ skills now very much in demand that Jerry took up residencies at The Cross and The Velvet Underground while regularly guesting at The Ministry of Sound, Turnmills, The Egg, Home, and Pacha amongst others.

Further afield Jerry toured across the globe making appearances in Ibiza, St Tropez, Moscow, Berlin, Athens and Milan to name but few and at the start of the new millennium with his finger as ever very much on the Capitals pulse Jerry contributed to the now booming bar culture with his weekly bar residency at Movida, which was voted London’s best bar night for 3 years consecutively at the London Bar and Club awards.

In recent times, Jerry relocated to Australia, initially Brisbane, where he was made the weekly resident at Family before moving once more and settling in Sydney. 2017 saw Jerry commence running Follow Me a series of sporadic bespoke Classic house events held in various locations across Sydney, which has also led to the incarnation of Salinas, where Jerry is joined by guest D.J.s laying down a soundtrack of Ibiza-inspired deep beach and Balearic house at this event hosted mainly at the Cafe del Mar. Follow Me has seen legends from the U.S. and U.K., including Paul Oakenfold, Marshall Jeffreson, Danny Rampling, Farley Jackmaster Funk, Darren Emerson, Fat Tony X-Press 2, Seb Fontaine and Brandon Block grace the decks. Follow Me also recently hosted the recent Clockwork Orange events across Australia. The huge success of this party has resulted in a string of sell-out events that have taken Sydney by storm and continue to go from strength to strength.
